Back in the pre-revolutionary Romania seeing a couple passionately kissing on the street was a rare scene to catch, so going to Paris in ’93 – the first Western city I ever visited – the image of embraced people was a real visual shock. Charmed and surprised by the naturalness, candor and freedom these gesture were inspiring, I became simply obsessed by capturing on film the couples, as from then on, throughout my journeys in Europe and then worldwide I began the quest for the most beautiful kisses. I followed them and add them each to my collection. My search and shooting style refined in time and I started somehow to analyze the differences, even to make a glossary of the looks and gestures of these people based on the geographical region I was visiting. Innocent kisses, dramatic or passionate, intense or shy sights, people who tell stories or live their affairs, people who are left behind or met around the corner. In Paris, Venice, Monte Carlo or around, I wonder what brings them together, what sets them apart?
