Two

Back in my pre-revolutionary Romania seeing a couple passionately kissing on the street was a rare scene to catch, so going to Paris in ’93 – the first Western city I ever visited – the image of embraced people was a real visual shock. Charmed and surprised by the naturalness, innocence and freedom of these gestures, I simply become obsessed with capturing on film these couples – so since then, during my travels in Europe and then the worldwide I started looking for the most beautiful kisses. I followed each of them and add them to “my collection”.

My search and shooting style refined in time and I started somehow to see and analyze the differences. Innocent kisses, dramatic or passionate, intense or shy sights, people with all kind of stories, people who are left behind or met around the street corner…

In Paris, Venice, Lisbon or around, I wonder what brings them together, what sets them apart?
